Dr. Ali R. Abedini, P.Eng., Founder & CEO, LFG Specialist:
Dr. Abedini is an industry-recognized Landfill Gas (LFG) expert and a faculty member of SWANA BC. He has been working in solid waste management (SWM) and landfill engineering industry since 2000. He holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Civil Engineering and a Ph.D. degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering from University of British Columbia (UBC).
Dr. Abedini is currently a World Bank senior technical advisor for waste management projects in developing countries and have assisted development of the sector in Bosnia, Ukraine, Belarus, Philippines, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Myanmar, India, West Bank & Gaza. Ali’s main focus is landfill engineering, LFG management systems design and GHG reduction initiatives. In addition to developing the highly accurate UBCiModel© for modeling of LFG generation, he invented a patented methodology for quantification of fugitive methane emissions from landfills (SSEQT).
Majid Kharazi, M.Sc., E.I.T., Technical Assistant:
Majid has been working in solid waste management (SWM)
sector since 2016. He holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Civil Engineering and a M.Sc. degree in Environmental Engineering from University of Nottingham (UK).
Majid has been working with ISWM since 2017 as a part-time Technical Assistant, responsible for Data Compilation and Analysis, Regulatory Compliance Review and Permit Applications, IPs and ITs.
Hamideh Soltani, Bookkeeper & Admin:
Hamideh is a certified accountant who has been working with ISWM since 2017. She manages our accounts payable/ receivable, keeps recording of all our financial events, prepares our journal entries and work with our outsourced accounting firm for ISWM’s annual filing and financial reporting.
